ROYCE' Chocolate Champions Sustainability and Ethical Production

Earth Day may annually be celebrated every April 22 but at ROYCE' Chocolate, the words "sustainability" and "ethical production" have always been integral to our mission and our daily practices.

While Earth Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the ways businesses can harmonize their operations with the planet's health, we at ROYCE' Chocolate believe that every day is a good time to enact fair and ethical business methods that impact both the environment and society.

Commitment to Ethical Practices

ROYCE' Chocolate is proud to be a member of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF). This partnership underscores our commitment for ethically-produced confections from start to finish. The WCF plays a crucial role in promoting social wellbeing, economic development, and environmental stewardship in cocoa-growing communities.

With about 70 member companies, representing over 80% of the global cocoa and chocolate market, the WCF orchestrates collaborations that significantly benefit cocoa-producing regions. Our membership in the WCF is a testament to our dedication to the sustainability of cocoa and the prosperity of cocoa farmers worldwide.

The ROYCE' Cacao Farm in Colombia

In pursuit of excellence, ROYCE' Chocolate established its own cacao farm in Colombia in 2014. After extensive research and site visits, we partnered with a local company that manages the farm and provides technical assistance to neighboring farmers. This collaboration fosters a community of growth and sustainability.

Our commitment extends beyond mere management. We respect and value the expertise of the local staff who cultivate cacao with passion and pride. This initiative allows us to further ethically source and produce our confections while exploring the vast possibilities of chocolate production — from cultivation to processing.

How Japan Does Chocolate

Through the ROYCE' Cacao Farm and our broader ethical sourcing practices, we aim to showcase the dedication of Japanese craftsmanship. This credo is reiterated at our factory and headquarters in Hokkaido, Japan where our confections are made with adherence to high-quality production strategies and strict hygienic standards.

At ROYCE’ Chocolate, we believe that the best chocolate not only tastes good but also does good — for everyone, from the farmer to the consumer. Together, let's savor the joys of sustainable chocolate and the difference it can make in the world.
